A dozen climate activists occupied a Credit Suisse branch to protest the bank's fossil fuel investments. They were arrested and charged. They relied upon the necessity defense, arguing that their actions were necessary and proportional. This defense received mixed response from the Swiss judicial system. Some protesters were able to get acquittals and some judges deemed their actions necessary and proportional, others did not.
